Building on eight years of success with annual conferences, the BC Poultry Conference brings BC’s poultry sector together — producers, growers, industry partners, and experts from across the industry.
This conference is built around a spirit of growth and innovation. It offers a timely opportunity to connect and share ideas on the issues shaping day-to-day operations — from animal care, policy shifts, and sustainable practices to food safety, market dynamics, urban-rural relations, and public trust.
We believe in the power of collaboration and shared knowledge. Every session is built to deliver practical insight, new connections, and a clearer view of where the industry is headed.
The BC Poultry Conference is the leading annual event for producers, growers, and industry partners.
Including financial institutions, equipment suppliers, feed mills, hatcheries, graders, processors, distributors, and more.
Bringing Together BC’s Poultry Community
At the BC Broiler Hatching Egg Commission, we’re proud to support the people and farms behind the beginning of British Columbia’s chicken supply chain. Working alongside 55 dedicated producers and industry partners, we help build a strong, innovative, and sustainable broiler hatching egg sector.
Through collaboration, responsible production, and forward-thinking leadership, we’re committed to strengthening our industry today while creating opportunities for the next generation of BC producers.
The BCCGA represents the interests of BC’s chicken farmers. The BCCGA provides a voice for farmers, ensuring their perspectives are heard and considered in the Board’s decision-making process. Its board is made up of members representing different regions or interests.
The BCCGA also runs educational programs, such as “Poultry in Motion,” to connect the public with local farmers and farming practices.
Established in 1961, the BCCMB is a regulatory body responsible for overseeing the production and marketing of chicken in British Columbia. Its mission is to engage with stakeholders to lead a growing chicken industry while enhancing the public trust.
The Board works alongside chicken growers, hatcheries, processors, and related organizations to raise quality chicken for BC consumers. Providing British Columbians with fresh, local, reliable, quality chicken is at the heart of our work.
The BC Egg Marketing Board is the regulatory board that oversees British Columbia’s egg industry, working with over 160 family-owned and operated egg farms. It regulates the production, grading, packing, marketing and transportation of regulated eggs in the province, and through supply management matches production to consumer demand — keeping prices stable without government subsidy.
The BC Egg Producers’ Association represents the interests of British Columbia’s registered egg farmers. Led by a board of directors drawn from the province’s egg farms, it gives producers a collective voice on the issues that affect them, and represents the sector at the BC Agriculture Council alongside B.C.’s other commodity associations.
The BC Hatching Egg Producers’ Association represents British Columbia’s 57 hatching egg producers. Together they hold an annual allocation of 129 million hatching eggs, with a farm gate value of roughly $70 million.
The BC Turkey Association (BCTA) was formed in 1951 under the Societies Act and was mainly a social venue for turkey farmers in BC. As farming has evolved, the BCTA has shifted to take on more active roles in biosecurity, disease response, and grower education. BCTA represents 60 turkey farmers in BC who grow a total of approximately 2 million turkeys each year, with farm gate sales of $50 million. The BCTA is a member of the BC Poultry Association and the BC Agriculture Council.
The BC Turkey Marketing Board (BCTMB) is responsible for regulating the BC turkey industry as set out in the authorities granted through the Natural Products Marketing (BC) Act and the BC Turkey Marketing Scheme. BCTMB’s primary activities include licensing turkey farmers and processors, managing a quota system for regulated production, setting the price of live turkey (paid from processor to farmer) and promoting turkey products to the public. BCTMB has the authority to regulate the production of all turkey grown for either meat or eggs in British Columbia. It is supervised by the BC Farm Industry Review Board.
