S.01 ‑ David Hermans | NUScience | European Experience with Antimicrobial Reduction in Poultry with MCFA

Speaker: David Hermans
Dr Hermans David was born in 1982 in Belgium. He completed his degree of Industrial Engineer in Biochemistry in 2007, followed by a Master in Molecular Biotechnology in 2008 at Ghent University. In 2012, he completed a PhD in Veterinary Medicine at the department of Pathology, Bacteriology and Poultry Diseases of Ghent University, sponsored by the Federal Public Service Health in Belgium. During his PhD he studied the effect of several intervention measures (additives, passive immunization, …) to control Campylobacter in poultry, by means of several animal and in vitro models.
In 2013, David Hermans started working for Nuscience as Product Developer Poultry, a position he currently still holds. He is responsible for the formulation and development of new products and concepts for poultry nutrition & health, by performing in vitro and poultry trials at Nuscience’s own research facilities and external research institutes, worldwide. Besides that he provides technical support and trainings, is actively involved in EU research projects and participates in (inter)national symposia and conferences.

S.02 ‑ Wendy Bennett / Agsafe ‑ Mental Health in Farming ‑ Bigger Challenge?
Speaker: Wendy Bennett
Wendy Bennett is the Executive Director for AgSafe in BC, and serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association. Wendy has been in the Health and Safety field since 1995. Successfully earning her Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation in 2004, Wendy serves as an instructor with BCIT’s Occupational Health and Safety Certificate program and holds an Executive MBA in Health and Safety Leadership. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology and uses this background in working with people on a daily basis. Ensuring agriculture producers have the resources they need to ensure a safe and healthy working environment has been her goal with AgSafe and with CASA. She hopes to continue leading change in the agriculture industry toward a Canada where no one is hurt farming.

Mark's personal vision for working at Covenant is to make a positive, practical and long-term impact. When not at Covenant, you can find Mark spending time with his wife and three children. He also enjoys playing soccer and golf and tending to the chickens on their hobby farm.
Rob Radloff BCom, CPA, CA, CFP, CLU
As a Professional Chartered Accountant, Rob Radloff brings many years of broad international experience to his role as Financial and Estate Specialist with Covenant. With a gift for relationship building, Rob is also a talented presenter and writer. He's been published in Business in Vancouver, the Vancouver Sun and gives frequent presentations on tax and succession planning. Rob holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Rhodes University and is a Professional Chartered Accountant, a Certified Financial Planner and a Chartered Life Underwriter. He is also a Member of the Vancouver Estate Planning Council and a Member of the Canadian Tax Foundation. Rob heads up the financial and estate planning division at Covenant, working with other members of the Covenant team to develop integrated financial plans for clients. Rob lives in North Vancouver with his wife, Nancy, and their two sons. Rob enjoys spending time with his family, hiking and playing tennis.
